Who? Ian Sinclair is an independent retail and computer technology consultant with over 20 years experience of the IT industry. In the last 5 years this has been combined with commercial experience with the UK’s most successful grocery retailer, Tesco. In his time at Tesco he was responsible for the desktop solutions team responsible for server and desktop deployment throughout Tesco. Recently he has been responsible for the successful procurement and merchandising of PC’s, accessories and consumables within the highly challenging store environment, resulting in a weekly turnover of over 500k and a year on year growth rate of 80%.

What?

He currently works with several manufacturers and leading UK distributors on the retail side and also provides IT services directly to a select number of personal customers. He remains under a retainer with Tesco in an advisory capacity.

His primary focus is helping companies and wholesalers distribute their products and services into the high-risk grocery retail environments. This involves all aspects of the operation end to end. He has learned that although price and margin are important the big wins are in the delivery and operations. The unique combination of his IT industry knowledge and senior commercial experience with Tesco makes an invaluable winning formula for any business interfacing with the retail customer.
